How to Build LAN ( local Area network )

Does it actually Networks? Networking is a relationship between two or more autonomous computers which aims to create connectivity through the network transmission medium for sharing information and resources. here we will review the basics of computer network (in a computer language called kerenya Network). computer network is a relationship between two or more autonomous computers via data communication media. autonomic computing is a computer that can stand alone or often referred to as a PC (Personal Computer).
 in the manufacturing network, we will be introduced to Topology, Topology is a way to network computers, we must choose in the establishment of computer network topology, the topology of this election we are faced with funding financial matter, because it determines the type of topology, will determine the amount of funds we need to build a computer network


Network cable

The cable network serves as a media liaison between computers. can directly from computer to computer or from computer to the Switch HUB. selection of the network cable must also be careful to get the ati -0 data transfer speeds are fast enough. until now the brand Beldon USA fared best in the transfer of data within the network. Switch HUB
if we only use 2 PC (Personal Computer) then we can directly connects through the medium of cable without using Switch HUB, but if there are more than 2 computers that will we connect, then we need this tool to be able to connect all PCs to be connected and mutually in touch. Switch HUB has several kinds, from speed, number of ports, and the brand is something that must be considered to obtain the maximum network speed. a growing number of PCs are we going to connect the more the number of ports in the switch HUB we need

RJ45 connector
is the hardware that is installed on the end of the cable network that serves the cable can be connected to the NIC HUB or Switch. in fact many types of connectors that can be used to build a network, here we take the example of RJ45, which is the connector that we will use to form a network with star topology. type of connector is also a wide - range in terms of speed.

Now we will begin discussion of a network installation from the installation of computer workstations.
The first step is to install the OS (operating system) on each Work station, here we use Windows XP as the initial learning, then we can develop on Linux or the other.
before installing the OS on a PC workstation, make sure the Hardware installation on each - each PC. after all OK, install the OS with the correct one by one.

if the above steps have been successfully done, the next step is the installation of connectors on the cable end, suppose we have more than 2 PCs that will be created to build the network, so that the shape of the wiring on the connector is straight, look at the differences between Straight fitting with Cross

From the above two types of cables, respectively - each has its own function,
Straight cables are used to connect computers to the switch HUB
whereas Crosover cable used to connect the same components, such as computer to computer or Hub to Hub.
Important : there are differences in the composition of the laying of the cable color.

after we successfully installed the connector on the cable, now we make sure the connector is properly installed, use the tester connector to ensure,tool to see that the connector is properly installed as shown on the side.

after cable ready (good connection), connect all computers to the switch HUB with cable media that we have made earlier. make sure that the Switch HUB ON condition. the last step we do ip settings for the network, on each PC, open the Control Panel - Network Connection - select local area connection. open the properties on the local area connection, then there will be display like in this picture:

Once out the window like a picture next to select Internet Protocol (TCP / IP), and press Properties
After setting the IP next window appears as shown in the picture, give it IP 192.168.1.2 on the first computer 192.168.1.3 on 2nd computer and so on in sequence, make sure that unused subnetmask is 255.255.255.0 then OK.
 

The next Right-click on MyComputer and select Properties
select it and click Change to change the computer name and Workgroup to equate its
it will be out the window beside :

On the first computer to pass the name Computer name> Computer1
done sequentially for the 2nd computer and so on

 

make sure that there is writing on the box WORKGROUP workgroup, if not then replace the text with a WORKGROUP,
do the same on all computers, and network installation has been completed, to test whether the computer has been connected between a computer with another computer, do the test below

• open the start menu select Run, type cmd and ok
• after leaving the black Command window, from the first computer type> ping 192.168.1.3
• if exit replay of the computer that has the IP 192.168.1.3 then the computer has been connected properly
• do the same for all computers, and make sure there are answers to replay from any computer
