the presence of computer viruses within computer owners will be very unsettling, even though there is an anti virus in the computer, in fact an anti-virus is not able to detect the virus as a whole. to address issues around the emergence of a virus on a computer, here we describe the symptoms that often appear or can be regarded as signs of the virus:
- setting windows or operating system can not be changed, with other conditions, setting the operating system will be back as before the change.
- loss of a folder that should exist on a drive, or a new folder appear strange.
- up the various files that look weird / not made by users
- there is a foreign application process running by itself, certainly not from a computer system.
- computer performance dropped dramatically, although there is no running programs
if there are symptoms like the above appears on a computer, we can do some minor steps below:
- look at the processes tab in windows task manager window, see if there are programs that should not be running, if it exists then stop the program by the end process.
- then a virus scan with updated anti-virus.
- to feel the results of the scan was done, restart the computer.
- if you find that the symptoms are still there it means the system has been infected with the virus is too severe, in these conditions, anti-virus scan of the most mean nothing, because most likely anti-virus also infected, the right step to replace the operating system files that are new (reinstall the operating system).
- backup files that are on the same drive with the operating system (usually drive C), put on another drive or on external storage
- reinstall the operating system and required drivers, then install anti-virus updates also (remember, never open a drive other than C drive where the operating system, or external storage are likely exposed to the virus)
- do a virus scan as a whole
- drives or other external storage media can be sure that we open after virus scan has been done perfectly.
