This condition is the worst form of violence to hit Iraq since the U.S. army announced officially end combat operations on 1 Septemher, and occurs when the new government has not been formed since elections last March.
The twin explosions hit near the intersection of Aden and in the northern Baghdad district of Mansour neighborhood west of the capital, at about 10:10 local time, according to AFP journalists and security officials.
An interior ministry official said the death toll reached 29, 19 people in an explosion in Aden and 10 others in the Mansur neighborhood.
"It was a mini bus - the driver stopped and told the people near him that he would see a doctor," said Abu Abdullah, 40, who was near the bombing of Aden.
"A few minutes later, the car exploded," he explains.
An AFP reporter at the scene said the explosion happened at about the national security department office building, resulting in pools of three feet in diameter, and the security forces had closed the area.
He reported, blood, tears clothes and black metal shards strewn across the road.
He added that the national security of the building collapsed and several nearby houses heavily damaged.
In Mansur, AFP journalist reported witnessing several bergelimpang bloody body on the road.
Many cars on fire and badly damaged two buildings, while the houses that were nearby also suffered serious damage.
The blast occurred outside the office of Asiacell mobile phone company.
He said the building is not yet clear whether the mobile phone companies that were targeted.
"When the bomb went off, all our working papers and chairs were thrown into the air and we were crashing on the floor," said one worker Asiacell, the anonymity.
"Everyone wanted to run away from the building, but fire and smoke road ambush us," he said.
Also on Sunday, a father and son were killed when a magnetic bomb struck his car in Ghazaliyah, western Baghdad, interior ministry official said.
He added, three mortar rounds also were fired into the heavily guarded Green Zone, where many foreign embassies and government buildings, but the explosion caused no casualties or damage.
